What is FUNEDIPRODE Costa Rica?

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE EDUCATION, DISSEMINATION, AND PROTECTION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES OF COSTA RICA

Fredy Madrigal and Verónica Espinosa created the FUNEDIPRODE foundation, registered on December 23, 2023, with Legal ID No. 3-006-894821, which identifies it legally before the Costa Rican state and laws.

The Foundation's main purpose will be the dissemination and protection of Costa Rica's endemic species, as well as promoting the education and understanding of these species and their environment. Its projects will focus on schools, colleges, and communities, raising awareness not only among students and teachers but also among the active members of communities near protected areas, whether governmental or private projects. Additionally, it aims to create new conservation areas through the purchase of important habitats for endangered species. The organization will be recognized for the impact of its actions on the education, welfare, and protection of endangered species, as well as the development of communities and active groups it collaborates with, maintaining integrity and professionalism in its conduct.

To achieve its purpose, the Foundation may:

1. Conduct research on related topics.
2. Send and/or receive donations of any kind to fulfil their objectives at both the national and international levels.
3. Promote and support broad dialogue on issues of concern among the public sector, municipalities, business organizations, social organizations, universities, research centers, local organizations, and other entities.
4. Undertake commercial operations to increase its assets in any country, with the stipulation that the income generated must be used exclusively to achieve its objectives, whether these objectives are realized in Costa Rica or elsewhere.
5. Carry out any of the activities consistent with these statutes in any other country.
6. Engage in any activity deemed necessary to fulfill its purpose, including but not limited to leasing all types of immovable or movable properties, providing guarantees and bonds, receiving all kinds of services, opening and using bank accounts in both the National Banking System and any foreign bank, acting and agreeing in all forms for the proper development of its mission.

Additionally, it may enter contracts with the State, its institutions, philanthropic foundations, cooperation organizations, private entities, and non-governmental organizations. It may also receive or acquire property through contracts, wills, or fiduciary ownership, acting as the trustor, trustee, or beneficiary. In general, it may engage in all types of actions that are not contrary to laws and statutory provisions. The Foundation may conduct its activities worldwide, either independently or through branches, country offices, regional offices, and/or any other modality permitted by the current legislation of the country in which such activities are carried out.
